“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink…..lacking clothes and you clothed me.”

The Outreach Committee at St. Matthew’s seeks to give specific direction to parishioners who wish to follow Jesus’ instructions to feed and clothe the needy, primarily in our own community.

All year we collect and deliver food, cleaning supplies and toiletries for several charities, such as the Salvation Army, Home Sweet Home Mission and Clare House. In winter we collect and deliver coats; this year we held a Diaper Drive as well. We make a special effort to provide a Thanksgiving Bounty to people in need in our parish. We sponsor a mitten tree at Christmas time and a school-supplies drive in August for The Children’s Foundation.

A “Jumble Sale” is held yearly in August to raise cash for local charities.

ITEMS OF THE MONTH—Thanksgiving Food Baskets In November, the Outreach Committee is asking for donations of canned and dried goods, as well as collecting money to buy turkeys for our Thanksgiving baskets to be given to St. Matthew's parishioners in need.  When your generosity creates more than is needed for our own people, we donate baskets to folks outside our parish.  If you know a family or single in need, please contact Linda Stawick (828-7422).  Your suggestions will be confidential.  Please have your groceries/donations to the church by Sunday, Nov. 22.
